Open-source notices
Third-party licences and source offers
TechCast Studio bundles third-party open-source software. This page lists the licences, required attribution, and how to obtain corresponding source code.
Material Symbols
Web and desktop interfaces use the unmodified Material Symbols Outlined font from Google's Material Design Icons project, under the Apache License, Version 2.0. The included licence and pinned source and integrity details accompany the local font.
FFmpeg
The TechCast Studio desktop app bundles a prebuilt FFmpeg binary distributed through the ffmpeg-static npm package. FFmpeg is used for screen, camera, microphone, and live-stream capture, MP4 export, and media probing.
- The
ffmpeg-staticnpm package declares GPL-3.0-or-later in its package metadata. - The FFmpeg binary itself is licensed as LGPL-2.1-or-later by default. Optional components enabled with
--enable-gplmove the combined work to GPL-2.0-or-later. The bundled binary shipped byffmpeg-staticis built without those optional GPL components unless explicitly enabled.
Source offer
In compliance with the GNU General Public License and the GNU Lesser General Public License, complete corresponding source code is made available to recipients of this software:
- Official FFmpeg source: ffmpeg.org/releases

The corresponding source for the FFmpeg version shipped with each TechCast Studio release is captured, checksum-verified, and retained with that release's evidence for at least three years. To request the source on physical media, contact the support address listed on the Support page.
Attribution
FFmpeg is a trademark of Fabrice Bellard, originator of the FFmpeg project. TechCast Studio uses FFmpeg under the terms described above. This notice accompanies every redistribution of the desktop application, installer, and update package.
Ongoing legal review
The final licence disposition for TechCast Studio's desktop distribution is subject to qualified legal review. This page will be updated if that review changes any notice, attribution, or source-offer terms above.
